1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as local storage. They help sites work, remember preferences and understand usage.
2. Cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Can be turned off? |
|---|
| Strictly necessary | Sign-in, security, load balancing, remembering your cookie choice | No — the site cannot work without them |
| Preferences | Remember settings such as dashboard options | Yes |
| Analytics | Anonymised statistics on how the site and platform are used so we can improve them | Yes — only set with your consent where required |
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. Managing your choices
When you first visit you can accept all or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie preferences” in the footer of every page. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings, though blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
4. Cookies on your customers’ WiFi portals
If you use MailToucan, you are responsible for the cookie and privacy notices on your own captive portal and emails. Our portal templates include a consent area you can adapt.
