GDPR-compliant WiFi marketing requires explicit consent, a clear privacy notice, a way to withdraw consent and secure handling of data. This checklist helps venues meet those requirements worldwide. It is general information, not legal advice.
Checklist
- Show a clear privacy notice on your portal
- Use an unticked, explicit marketing consent checkbox
- Keep marketing consent separate from network access where required
- Record when and how consent was given
- Include an unsubscribe link in every email
- Honour access and deletion requests
- Do not collect data from children under 13 (or local age)
